VIE Strengthens Scientific and Technological Collaboration in the School of Health Through “Connecting Capabilities”

Encuentro Conectando capacidades en la Facultad de Salud

With the aim of strengthening the link between research and outreach, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Outreach held the “Connecting Capabilities” event at the School of Health, an initiative designed to highlight and promote the use of the scientific and technological infrastructure at the UIS Guatiguará Central Laboratories.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase not only the laboratories’ current capabilities but also the new technological infrastructure and highly sophisticated equipment that the University will soon acquire, which will be available to the entire academic and scientific community.

During the meeting, commitments were established to align these capabilities with the specific needs of the Faculty’s research groups, with the aim of strengthening project development and the generation of knowledge that impacts society.

Likewise, the upcoming release of a portfolio of services was announced, which will facilitate access to and use of these capabilities by researchers and other institutional stakeholders.

In this context, the Vice Rector for Research and Extension, Cristian Blanco Tirado, highlighted the importance of such forums for consolidating coordinated efforts at the University.

“We are making progress in aligning these capabilities with the needs of our research groups. In addition, we will have a training plan, with courses offered by the laboratories, and a scheduling system that will allow the university community to easily reserve these spaces and services. “We will continue to strengthen the University’s infrastructure, but what matters most is that this translates into greater productivity and better coordination among the different fields of knowledge,” he stated.

This initiative is part of an institutional strategy led by the Office of the Vice President, which includes its implementation across the University’s various schools, as well as faculty visits to the laboratories at the Guatiguará Technology Park, with the aim of further strengthening collaborative efforts and leveraging the resources available at the UIS.
