UIS to Host Health Fairs Offering Free Services and Vaccinations to the Community

The Student Welfare Office is offering two health fairs in partnership with FOSCAL Clinic and the Bucaramanga Health Institute (ISABU).

The Industrial University of Santander (UIS), through its Student Welfare Office, School of Nursing, and Proinapsa Institute, in partnership with FOSCAL Clinic and the Bucaramanga Health Institute (ISABU), will hold health fairs on Tuesday, October 20, and Thursday, October 22, offering healthcare services to members of the university community.

These initiatives aim to strengthen health and wellness programs, promote healthy habits, and provide opportunities for disease prevention and comprehensive student care, facilitating access to a range of healthcare services.

ISABU Health Fair

The event, organized in partnership with the Bucaramanga Health Institute (ISABU), will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Student Welfare building. Available services will include oral healthcare, vaccinations, family planning, general medical consultations, and health promotion and disease prevention programs.

Members enrolled in the subsidized healthcare plans offered by COOSALUD, Sanitas, and Nueva EPS will be eligible to participate in this first health fair.

FOSCAL Health Fair

The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Scientific Complex of the Faculty of Health and the Student Welfare building.

Medical and nursing services will be available to Nueva EPS members. Additional services will include nutritional screening, vaccinations, visual acuity assessments, and other healthcare services.

Additional Services and Vaccines

Vaccines not included in Colombia’s Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) will also be available for an additional fee, payable by bank transfer.

These vaccines include Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis), MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), chickenpox (varicella), and hepatitis B. Prices range from COP 54,500 to COP 363,000, depending on the vaccine.

UIS Student Welfare encourages the university community to participate in these health fairs and take advantage of the available services. Please note that some services have limited availability, and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
