The Universidad Industrial de Santander participated in the 2026 Departmental University Fair, an event where 900 students learned about the programs offered by the institution and discovered the benefits of choosing UIS to begin their professional future.
“We were invited by the Gobernación de Santander to take part in this fair and showcase all the programs offered by UIS, both at its Bucaramanga campus and its regional branches. This way, students can better understand how to apply to the University, the benefits available, and, very importantly, the Free Tuition Policy, so that next year they can become part of the best university in eastern Colombia,” explained Carlos Julio Mariño, Marketing professional from the Admissions and Academic Records Office.

This activity was attended by schools from Confines, Contratación, Guacamayo, Gámbita, Guadalupe, Guapotá, Oiba, and Suaita.
“The UIS is a very good university. I like that it offers free tuition, and it’s a great opportunity. Besides that, I want to study Architecture because I like design, or Chemical Engineering because I would like to specialize in cosmetology,” said Mayra Camila Rueda León, an 11th-grade student at the Escuela Normal Superior of Oiba.
The Departmental University Fair took place at the Industrial School of Oiba, where the presence of staff from the Universidad Industrial de Santander stood out.

“UIS is an icon in our province with its campus in El Socorro, and it has been a fundamental pillar in boosting the professional development of our students. We thank them for coming and being here with us, offering academic programs aligned with each student’s interests,” said Deisy Julieta Jaimes Valbuena, principal of the Industrial School of Oiba.
The Universidad Industrial de Santander offers a total of 52 programs across its regional campuses, including in-person, virtual, and distance-learning modalities.
