The Universidad Industrial de Santander, UIS Málaga Campus, is making progress in upgrading its teaching and research laboratories to provide better learning conditions and strengthen students’ hands-on academic experiences.
The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Málaga Campus, continues to strengthen its teaching and learning environments with the installation of new workbenches in its teaching and research laboratories. This improvement aims to enhance working conditions for academic experiments and scientific activities.
According to Sandra Díaz, coordinator of the UIS Málaga Campus, “the workbenches were imported from Germany and feature water and electrical connections that will facilitate laboratory work, as well as the connection and operation of existing equipment and new technologies”.
This upgrade is part of the campus infrastructure improvements designed to provide more functional and suitable spaces for students, professors, and researchers, supporting practical activities that complement academic training.

The project includes specialized facilities in several fields, including chemistry, physics, genetics, microbiology, soil science and geology, plant pathology, agroindustry, animal reproduction, anatomy, wood science, forestry and nursery management, and herbarium studies and veterinary medicine.
The facilities also include areas related to livestock and agroforestry conversion, bioprospecting, and Biometry-Xylotheque, which support academic and research activities associated with the natural, agricultural, livestock, and environmental sciences.
The installation of the new workbenches will provide suitable working surfaces and connections tailored to laboratory requirements, facilitating equipment use and practical activities under improved conditions.

UIS Málaga Continues to Improve Its Academic Facilities
According to campus coordinator Sandra Díaz, information about the equipment available in these laboratories and the activities that can be carried out in each facility will be shared soon. This initiative aims to showcase the campus’s academic and scientific capabilities.
These efforts are part of UIS Málaga’s commitment to strengthening its educational facilities, promoting research, and providing the university community with learning environments that meet the needs of higher education.
Through these improvements, the UIS Málaga Campus continues to consolidate its laboratories as essential spaces for hands-on learning, scientific exploration, and the education of professionals capable of contributing to regional development.
