UIS is preparing to graduate 833 new professionals: a celebration of dreams and the future

A total of 833 students from the Industrial University of Santander will receive their professional degrees tomorrow in five simultaneous graduation ceremonies, marking the consolidation of a new cohort of graduates across different fields of knowledge.

According to official figures, of the total number of graduates, 457 are women and 376 are men, reflecting a female majority in this class.

Ceremony organization

The ceremonies will take place at the Luis A. Calvo Auditorium on the main UIS campus and at the Scientific Complex for Research in Health and Life Sciences, scheduled across different time slots and organized by faculty.

The first ceremony, at 8:00 a.m., will include graduates from the Faculties of Sciences and Physicochemical Engineering. This will be followed at 10:00 a.m. by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

In the afternoon, at 2:00 p.m., graduates from the Faculty of Human Sciences will receive their degrees, and at 5:00 p.m., the ceremony will be held for students from the Institute for Regional Projection and Distance Education (IPRED).

Figures by faculty and programs

By faculty, the largest number of graduates comes from Mechanical Engineering, with 253 graduates. This is followed by IPRED, with a significant contribution driven mainly by technological programs such as Pharmacy Regency, which alone accounts for 140 graduates.

Also noteworthy are Physicochemical Engineering with 81 graduates, the Faculty of Health with 61, and the Faculty of Sciences with 51 .

Among the programs with the highest number of graduates are Civil Engineering with 62 new professionals, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with 34 each, and Nursing with 29 graduates.

Academic recognitions

The ceremonies will also highlight academic excellence, as several students will receive Cum Laude distinctions across different programs, including Physics, Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Foreign Languages, and Social Work .

The 833 graduating students represent the outcome of undergraduate and graduate training processes, having developed professional competencies and the capacity to respond to the challenges of their respective disciplines.

With this new class, the Industrial University of Santander continues to contribute highly qualified human talent to the country, reaffirming the role of its graduates as key actors in social, scientific, and technological development.
