Investigadoras principales

The Colombian Psychiatric Association awarded second place in the research project category to the study “Cardiometabolic factors, eating patterns, and sleep associated with mental health problems in boarding school students in the UIS Medicine program.”

The objective of this study was to establish the prevalence and changes in cardiometabolic risk factors, eating and sleeping patterns, and their association with mental health problems in boarding school students.

This research proposal, which is currently underway, is expected to generate evidence on changes in cardiometabolic risk factors and the presence of mental health problems faced by medical students during their year of rotating internships.

This information is of great importance for designing and implementing interventions to prevent or mitigate mental health problems in medical students.

This research proposal is being funded by the “For Our Well-Being” research call, which is part of the research strengthening plan of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research and Extension.

The authors of the study are Lady Rodríguez Burbano, Lina María Vera Cala, Jorge Andrés Niño García, Javier Mauricio Duque Rodríguez, and Juan Diego Lozano Sastoque.

Congratulations to the researchers!
