An event to promote creativity, science, and engineering in Floridablanca

Students from the Biomedical Engineering, Data Science Engineering, and Cultural and Creative Business Administration programs came together to close the semester with CreActiva: a platform that promotes collaborative work, the development of innovative projects, science, and culture.

For the first time, this major event featured the active participation of the three academic programs offered by the UIS at the Floridablanca campus, bringing together creativity, science, and engineering with the presentation of the progress made by students in their educational process. “It is very important to see how students integrate and how, from the first semester, they respond to their professors’ call to think, create, and shape ideas that will surely become much more developed over time,” said Professor Luis Carlos Gómez, director of the School of Systems Engineering.

The CreActiva agenda included workshops, discussions, exhibitions, and displays of work developed throughout the semester. This was complemented by a large cultural display promoted by students in the Cultural and Creative Business Administration program, which includes talented young people from Floridablanca schools who have committed to this UIS training through the articulation modality.

“I am satisfied with this entire event. As you can see, we are finishing the semester and presenting our final projects. My experience has been more than rewarding because, apart from being a great opportunity, it has allowed me to learn a lot in areas such as English, photography, and others,” said Camilo Jimenez, a student of Cultural and Creative Business Administration.

In turn, Carlos Alberto Mendoza, rector of the Gabriel García Márquez Institute in Floridablanca, highlighted the progress made by the UIS in this municipality and the opportunity it has given to many young people from schools who are now also university students through articulation. “We are very happy to be linked to the UIS with our students because it has been a great opportunity for them to become professionals and participate in their careers and higher education,” he said.

CreActiva closed with a great concert to promote the talent of young students: a joyful space to celebrate the successful completion of the semester and consolidate this academic and cultural platform that is committed to promoting the talent and creativity of young students.
