Jürg Niederbacher Velásquez, a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine and current dean of the Faculty of Health at the Industrial University of Santander, represented the institution as a speaker at the 16th Colombian Congress of Pediatric Pulmonology and Childhood Asthma and the 6th Colombian Congress of Cystic Fibrosis, held recently in Armenia.
His participation took place in three high-impact academic settings:
- Speaker on the research topic “Vaping Trends in Colombia: A Snapshot of the Moment,” where he addressed an emerging issue in child and adolescent public health.
- Presentation of scientific posters:
-Unsuspected foreign body aspiration resolved with flexible bronchoscopy.
-Perception of risk regarding the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems in the Bucaramanga metropolitan area: a mixed-methods study (qualitative and quantitative).
3.Co-author of the book “Pediatric Pulmonology in Colombia: History, Memory, and Legacy,” which was officially launched during the congress, establishing itself as an academic benchmark in the specialty.
