The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) informs its student community that young people who participate in the 2026 presidential elections, scheduled for May 31, will be eligible for a 10% discount on the base tuition fee for the 2026-2 academic term.
This measure is based on Article 1 of Law 815 of 2003, which establishes an economic incentive for citizens who exercise their right to vote as a strategy to encourage democratic participation and civic engagement among young people.
According to the institution, students interested in obtaining the benefit must submit the required documentation before June 12, 2026, to the Collections Section Office, located on the first floor of Administrative Building 3. Office hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The required documents include an identification document, the original electoral certificate, and a photocopy of the electoral certificate with the student’s name and code written on the back.
The university states that this discount will remain valid until the next electoral process takes place, in accordance with current regulations.
