The Halley Group at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) will host an astronomy observation event on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, in Santa Bárbara, Santander, Colombia. The experience will combine science outreach activities, telescope observations, and an overnight camping experience surrounded by nature.
Participants will have the opportunity to observe the Moon’s craters, get a closer look at Saturn’s rings, learn to identify celestial bodies, explore the night sky, and discover how to use telescopes during the “Camping Under the Stars” event.
The activity will take place at La Mora Farm, located in the La Ceba rural area of Santa Bárbara, Santander. The event aims to bring people together through astronomy by offering night-sky observations, educational talks, and digital tools to help identify celestial objects.
Registration and Available Packages
To make the experience accessible to different participants, the UIS Halley Group offers four registration packages, priced at COP 100,000, COP 130,000, and COP 150,000 per person. The packages include different combinations of services, such as transportation, meals, access to activities, and camping facilities. Further details about the event and the available packages are provided in the accompanying document.
Transportation will depart from the main entrance of the Industrial University of Santander at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. The return trip from Santa Bárbara is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 25.
