
The academic excellence of the School of Health at the Industrial University of Santander was once again confirmed by the results of the 2025 Saber Pro exams, in which three of its programs ranked first nationally in their respective fields of study: Nutrition and Dietetics, Medicine, and Microbiology and Bioanalysis.
The Saber Pro exams, considered the primary tool for evaluating learning outcomes in higher education in Colombia, saw the participation of 168,153 students from 255 higher education institutions this year. In this context, the programs of the UIS School of Health stood out for their outstanding performance, consolidating the University’s academic leadership at the national level.
The Nutrition and Dietetics program ranked first among 17 evaluated institutions, with an overall score of 177. Additionally, it ranked first nationally in civic competencies, written communication, English, critical reading, and quantitative reasoning, demonstrating the comprehensive strength of its educational approach and its commitment to academic excellence.
For its part, the Medicine program ranked first among 64 programs nationwide, achieving an overall score of 197. The program led the national rankings in civic competencies, critical reading, and quantitative reasoning, confirming the strength of an educational program that integrates scientific rigor, critical thinking, and a deeply humanistic approach to professional practice.
Likewise, the Microbiology and Bioanalysis program earned first place nationally among 16 participating institutions, with an overall score of 179. Its students achieved the best results in the country in civic competencies, critical reading, and quantitative reasoning, reflecting the quality of an educational program that combines scientific excellence, ethical commitment, and a culture of continuous improvement.
These results represent recognition of the joint efforts of students, faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as the institution’s commitment to training highly competent professionals dedicated to meeting society’s needs. The achievements of these three programs strengthen the Faculty of Health’s standing and contribute to UIS’s leadership among Colombia’s public universities.
