The Specialized Health Unit of the Industrial University of Santander (UISALUD) commemorated World Hypertension Day with an awareness and prevention event for its patients, focused on blood pressure management. During the event, clear and practical information was provided on blood pressure management, what hypertension is, what blood pressure readings are considered high, and the risks associated with this condition.
During the event, the health team took blood pressure readings from attendees, allowing them to identify potential issues and offer personalized guidance. Additionally, key information was provided on home care, healthy habits, and the importance of timely medical follow-up for proper blood pressure management.

The event also included an educational talk that addressed topics such as risk factors, warning signs, and recommendations for preventing hypertension, raising awareness about this “silent” disease that can affect quality of life if not detected and managed early.

“These health fairs allow us to connect with our members and provide them with tools to manage their health. We don’t just check their blood pressure; we also educate them on how to keep it at healthy levels, what to do at home, and when to seek medical care,” said Lizbeth Daniela Durán Espinosa, the head nurse in charge of the event.
Through initiatives like this, UISALUD reaffirms its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and providing ongoing support to its members, thereby strengthening chronic disease prevention and the overall well-being of its community.
