The Unidad Especializada de Salud de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, UISALUD, is preparing to commemorate its 10th anniversary with an event to be held this Friday, March 27, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Auditorium of the Scientific Complex for Research in Health and Life Sciences, Faculty of Health at UIS.
UISALUD was established on April 1, 2016, as an institutional initiative aimed at strengthening comprehensive care for members of the UIS community. Since then, it has evolved significantly, growing from an initial infrastructure of 8 medical offices to a robust care model in 2026 with 44 service spaces and operations across two functional blocks. This growth has been accompanied by the progressive expansion of its services, increasing from 10 to 24 medical specialties, enabling more comprehensive, timely, and accessible care for its members.
Among the most notable milestones of this decade are the modernization of its infrastructure, the implementation of new services, the strengthening of the rehabilitation area, and the incorporation of a Physical Conditioning Center (CAF). Likewise, UISALUD obtained quality certification under the ISO 9001:2015 standard, granted by ICONTEC, which supports the Unit’s commitment to safe, efficient, and user-centered processes.

These achievements are also reflected in the Unit’s physical expansion, growing from 1,215 m² in 2016 to 3,428 m² in 2025, as well as in the implementation of innovative initiatives such as the introduction of two adapted vehicles designed to facilitate access to health services for people with reduced mobility.
Beyond the numbers, UISALUD has built its history around people: users who have received timely care, professionals who have served with dedication and human quality, and a university community that has placed its trust in this model of care.
As it celebrates 10 years, UISALUD reaffirms its commitment to continue advancing toward an increasingly humane, accessible, and efficient healthcare system, positioning itself as a benchmark in service provision within special healthcare regimes. Future challenges will focus on innovation, strengthening services, and consolidating care centered on life and the well-being of its users.
Because beyond a decade, UISALUD represents a promise renewed every day: to care for those who make this great community possible.
