The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) is participating in the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBO) with a robust editorial proposal that brings together the latest in its academic and scientific production, reaffirming the role of the book as an essential vehicle for the circulation of knowledge.
From its stand, the institution presents a catalog that reflects the research work of its community, with publications covering diverse areas of knowledge. Sonia Gamboa, head of the Publications Division, highlighted the scope of the participation: “We are present with the entire production of the university, our new releases, and the results of the work of the entire academic community,” she said, inviting the public to explore an offering that combines rigor, critical thinking, and pedagogical innovation. She also noted that several authors from UIS’s editorial production are participating as guests in the fair’s forums, expanding dialogue with readers and specialists.
UIS’s presence takes shape through an active agenda of book launches, presentations, and discussion spaces. Among the highlighted titles is a text aimed at training sports coaches, focused on theoretical and methodological foundations, as well as new legal editions by Professor Rocío Serrano, widely recognized in the legal field.

The catalog also offers reflections of a social and philosophical nature. Works such as With the Leader of the Wound address human suffering in the context of the contemporary economic model, while research led by Juan David Almeida analyzes the concept of Homo Economicus, questioning the foundations of the individual in neoliberal societies.
These are complemented by contributions to studies on coloniality by Damián Pachón and innovative proposals in mathematics education, such as the Calculus Reading Book, which integrates literary resources with the rigor of the exact sciences.
Another key area is bibliotherapy, promoted by Professor Ana Cecilia Ojeda, who presents reading as a tool for personal and social transformation, increasingly present in educational settings.
For Gamboa, these publications represent much more than editorial outcomes: “They are the materialization of the university’s mission. In them, scientific and cultural memory is preserved. The editorial process is rigorous because we are safeguarding knowledge that must endure.”
In a context marked by digital immediacy, UIS reaffirms its commitment to the book as a space for deep reflection. Its participation in the fair not only showcases its production but also strengthens dialogue between disciplines and diverse audiences.
With an active program and the presence of its authors in various forums, UIS positions itself as one of the prominent academic actors at the fair. The invitation remains open: engaging with its books is also an opportunity to understand the world from multiple perspectives.
