The Industrial University of Santander (UIS) received strong recognition for the quality of its academic offerings through resolutions issued by Colombia’s Ministry of National Education on January 21, 2026, which acknowledge the high standards of two of its on-campus programs in Bucaramanga—one through renewal and the other through first-time high-quality accreditation.

The Geology program (SNIES 706) obtained the renewal of its high-quality accreditation for eight years, along with the ex officio renewal of its qualified registration for the same period, in accordance with Resolution No. 001259. This result confirms its academic track record, its impact on scientific training, and its contribution to national development.

Meanwhile, the Master’s Program in Civil Engineering (SNIES 52667) achieved high-quality accreditation for the first time, also for a period of eight years, and received the renewal of its qualified registration under Resolution No. 001262. This achievement positions the program as a national benchmark in advanced education, applied research, and infrastructure innovation.

From the Office of the President, UIS highlighted the work of the academic communities of the School of Geology, part of the Faculty of Physicochemical Engineering, and the School of Civil Engineering, part of the Faculty of Physicomechanical Engineering, whose commitment and rigor have made it possible to consolidate standards of excellence in higher education.

These recognitions strengthen the University’s academic offerings and reflect its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, in line with its mission to serve national development.
