Building, Creating, and Transforming: Students from the Metropolitan Area Explore Science and Engineering

STEM MóviLab-UIS is an initiative funded by the UIS Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and Outreach.

The STEM MóviLab-UIS project brought the Future Builders workshop to students from educational institutions in Bucaramanga. This initiative fosters creative thinking, teamwork, and skill development among high school students, encouraging their interest in science and engineering.

Building an idea, sharing it with others, and turning it into a solution. This was part of the experience enjoyed by eleventh-grade students from Colegio Nuestra Señora del Pilar, who participated in the workshop using the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY dynamic.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Outreach is responsible for funding this initiative, which involves higher education institutions such as UIS and Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia.

UIS and UCC will guide students throughout the activities and promote learning environments where experimentation, creativity, and collaboration are at the heart of the learning process.

Santiago Duarte Macías, a student at Colegio Nuestra Señora del Pilar, shared his experience during the event:

“I thought was really great and genuinely interesting because it allowed us to unleash our creativity and talk with our classmates about our future”.

UIS and UCC were the pioneering institutions behind this science and engineering initiative.

In October 30, students will gather at the Guatiguará Technology Park, for an immersive science experience featuring an extensive academic program and international guests.

MóviLab-UIS continues to bring science and engineering closer to schools, creating new experiences that help young people discover their abilities and envision their future.
