The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) continued strengthening its international outreach through the active participation of its faculty in global academic settings. On this occasion, Professor Josefa Ramoni Perazzi, from the School of Economics and Business Administration, responded to an invitation from Eduardo Mondlane University, in Mozambique, where she taught an Intermediate Econometrics course for master’s degree students.
Advanced Training within the ManGrowth Project Framework
The academic activity was carried out within the framework of the ManGrowth project, an international initiative led by Sapienza University of Rome and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), aimed at strengthening research capacity and advanced training in strategic areas for economic and social development.
During the course, Professor Ramoni addressed econometric tools applied to economic data analysis and explored methodologies that enabled students to interpret complex phenomena and support evidence-based decision-making. The training focused on enhancing graduate students’ research skills and fostering academic exchange among institutions from different continents.
The professor highlighted the importance of this experience in consolidating international academic partnerships. “Participating in this activity allowed me to strengthen cooperation ties both with Eduardo Mondlane University and with the ManGrowth project, since this was not my first time traveling to that country to teach this course, and I have also collaborated in some of the Summer Schools that the project has developed there,” she stated.
This participation reinforced UIS’s presence in international academic networks and reaffirmed its commitment to knowledge generation and transfer in global contexts, contributing from Colombia to educational processes in Africa.
