
Professor Diana Cecilia Álvarez Salazar, attached to the School of Nutrition and Dietetics of the Faculty of Health, participated in the Call for Research of the José Félix Patiño Award in its 36th version, which is developed within the framework of the 39th Congress of Metabolism and Clinical Nutrition, held in Santa Marta, from June 19 to 21, 2025.
Professor Álvarez presented a research work in the poster modality entitled: “Characterization of the consumption of sports nutritional supplements in gyms in Bucaramanga, Colombia”, carried out with Professor Martha Lucía Silva Mora, from this house of studies. The professors are part of the Epidemiological Observatory of Nutrition and Chronic Diseases Research Group.
Similarly, the protocol entitled: “Effectiveness and safety of the use of immunonutrients, glutamine and arginine, in hospitalized pediatric patients with severe burns: a systematic review”, conducted with Professor Luis Alberto Lopez and tenth semester students of the Nutrition and Dietetics program Lina Martinez, Paola Lobo, Laura Giovanna Alvarez, Daniela Mantilla and Johan Gelves, was presented. This space was an important opportunity for students to participate and expose their protocol, learning more about research in the area of nutrition.
The event was attended by researchers from different universities in the country and Latin America, and addressed issues related to clinical nutrition and its impact on life cycles and multidisciplinary nutritional approach.
