Today, August 12, the agenda led by the Ministry of National Education and the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) continues in the department of Guaviare, as part of the national strategy “Higher Education at Your School.” This initiative seeks to bring relevant and high-quality education to territories where geography and socioeconomic conditions make access to university difficult.
The day began with visits to schools proposed for the Higher Education at Your School program and will continue with the refinement and coordination of commitments between higher education institutions, schools, and the Departmental Secretary of Education. Among the agreements expected to be finalized are the dates for the signing of cooperation agreements, outreach activities in the territory, the registration process, enrollment, and the start of classes.

This agenda follows the activities carried out yesterday, August 11, when UIS Territorial Manager Jorge Villamizar arrived in San José del Guaviare to meet with school principals, local authorities, and educational institutions.
In the morning, an outreach session was held with 10th-grade students and school administrators, highlighting the commitment of all stakeholders to reduce gaps and create educational opportunities for young people in both urban and rural areas of Guaviare. This session took place at the Concentración de Desarrollo Rural (CDR) Educational Institution.
