Starting this Saturday, November 22, from 6:00 a.m. until November 29 at 1:00 p.m., the Central Library of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) will operate continuously. The purpose is to offer students an adequate space to prepare for their final exams and achieve the best academic results.
“Students will have the first floor at their disposal for studying. In addition, book lending services and modern self-checkout and return machines will be available so that, with energy and dedication, they can successfully advance in their final exams,” explained Pedro García, director of the UIS Library.
During this week of intense preparation, students will also have the support of 30 tutors from the Academic Excellence System (SEA), who will guide the study processes and answer questions on key subjects.
“We will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to help with subjects such as calculus, linear algebra, physics, chemistry, and descriptive geometry. This program is very flexible: students can come whenever they need help, and tutors will be ready to answer their questions,” said Geyson Uribe Pereira, academic coordinator of the SEA–Library program.

For their part, students celebrated the reopening of the Library in 24/7 mode, as it represents a comfortable, safe, and conducive space for studying during exam week.
“Having the library open 24/7 helps us catch up on the subjects we find most difficult. In my case, I am a student and an athlete, and the schedules often overlap. Now I have the opportunity to study at any time,” said Gabriela Acero, a chemical engineering student.
Similarly, they highlighted the ongoing support provided by the SEA to strengthen their academic processes.
“The SEA’s help is enormous. The tutors are very friendly and well prepared. In previous editions, I have resolved many doubts with them. It is a very well-implemented service that benefits us and that we must value and preserve,” said Santiago Durán, a metallurgical engineering student.
