This Saturday, November 1, will be a special day for math enthusiasts. At the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), 239 students will participate in the final of the XIV UIS Mathematics Olympics – Primary, including 17 finalists from Arauca, Guainía, Vaupés, and Vichada.

The students from these regions are part of the territories where the UIS has committed to training more than 5,000 students, who today benefit from higher education programs thanks to partnerships with the national government and departmental and municipal governments.

“We extend our special thanks to the liaison teachers at each educational institution, whose dedication makes it possible for this project to continue growing and reaching every corner of the country. Their commitment has been essential in discovering and strengthening the mathematical talent of our children,” said the organizing committee of the activity.

The finals of the Olympics begin on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the Aula Máxima de Ciencias on the central campus. The closing ceremony and awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 2, in the Luis A. Calvo auditorium, starting at 10:00 a.m.

In this way, the University reaffirms its commitment to strengthening mathematics education in the country by promoting opportunities for gathering, learning, and healthy academic competition.
