The School of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Industrial University of Santander participated in the 17th National Congress on Critical Care and Intensive Care Medicine (AMCI 2026), held on May 13, 14, and 15 in Cali, reinforcing its commitment to academic training, research, and scientific advancement in the field of clinical nutrition.

Representing the UIS were ninth-semester students Lizeth Fernanda Uribe Díaz and Paula Nicol Torres Leal, accompanied by Professor Claudia Milena Ardila and nutritionist Ester Álvarez, who presented a systematic review titled: “Enteral Nutrition in Critically Ill Patients on Vasopressors: Is It Really Safe?”

The study was conducted during a clinical rotation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), as part of an academic and research process aimed at strengthening evidence-based nutritional care for critically ill patients.

Participation in this important national event helped raise the profile of the academic work of the UIS School of Nutrition and Dietetics and strengthened the exchange of knowledge regarding current challenges in clinical nutrition and nutritional support in intensive care.

The School of Nutrition congratulates the participating students and faculty for representing UIS with institutional excellence and contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the fields of nutrition and critical care.
