With the return of administrative and teaching staff to the various university campuses, following the end of the collective vacation period approved by the Academic Council, the Industrial University of Santander officially resumes its institutional activities and services to the public as of Thursday, January 15.
After closing a positive year marked by significant advances in the development of its mission of teaching, research, and outreach, in addition to strengthening its institutional offerings in different regions of the country, the UIS is currently making final preparations to fine-tune its physical and technological infrastructure for the start of the 2026-1 academic period.
UIS Rector Hernán Porras Díaz stated: “With the return to administrative and teaching duties at the beginning of 2026, we extend a warm welcome to the Industrial University of Santander. This moment marks the resumption of institutional work and the collective willingness to move forward with the necessary preparations that will allow us to fulfill, with rigor and a sense of responsibility, the academic and administrative commitments that the University will assume during this period. It is a key stage for organizing, planning, and preparing the conditions that will enable the academic year to unfold smoothly.”
In this context, we await the arrival of the new students admitted to the on-campus undergraduate programs, who will participate in the university life orientation activities scheduled for the week of January 26-30.

According to the academic calendar, approved by Agreement 341 of 2025 of the Academic Council, the online enrollment process for returning students will take place from January 20 to 22, while the publication of schedules is scheduled for January 27.
Starting today, the UIS has enabled all its service channels to provide guidance and support to the student community during the 2026-1 academic period, which will begin on Monday, February 2, and run until May 29.
