The School of Law and Political Science invites the academic and legal communities, as well as society at large, to participate in the AI and Law Colloquium, a permanent, open, hybrid, and free academic space for analyzing the multidimensional repercussions of artificial intelligence (AI) on contemporary society and the way in which the law imagines, constructs, and projects its regulation.
This initiative was created as a forum for citizen deliberation and critical reflection on one of the most influential technological phenomena of our time. The colloquium seeks to bring together different perspectives of knowledge to examine the ethical, political, and regulatory challenges posed by the expansion of artificial intelligence in public and private spheres.
The inaugural session will be held on March 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Humanities 2 Auditorium (first floor), in a hybrid format that will allow both in-person and virtual participation.
Two central themes
The regulation of AI in Colombia, with the aim of analyzing the current state of regulatory discussions and institutional challenges in order to build a legal framework that guarantees democratic rights and principles.
The judicial use of AI, a reflection on the incorporation of technological tools in the administration of justice, their potential, and the challenges in terms of transparency, due process, and judicial autonomy.
The colloquium is organized by professors Jorge Cáceres Malagón and Diego Hernández Velásquez, who invite teachers, researchers, students, and interested citizens to join this space and propose future sessions that broaden the debate from various disciplines and experiences.
