“Image, Time, and Memory” is the new photography exhibition that invites the community to explore the institutional history of the UIS through the visual archive of the Communications Department.

Through 103 historical images, the public will be able to recognize academic processes, campus transformations, and everyday scenes that reflect the social and cultural evolution of the university.

“This exhibition was a review of the archives with photos that the Communications Department has compiled over the years, and the idea was to synthesize the history of the university through images, especially from the 1940s to the early 1990s. With this, we want to show the approach to the history of the UIS from its inception through photography,” said Roger Díaz Carreño, curator of the exhibition and professor of Fine Arts at the UIS.

The photographs will be on display in the Rafael Prada and Gustavo Gómez Ardila rooms of the Cultural Directorate until the end of March, to mark the 78th anniversary of the Industrial University of Santander.

“I think the exhibition is wonderful, the venue is very well decorated, seeing the original model of the Geometry Lesson has been like a dream, it is an emblematic place of the UIS and seeing its beginnings is spectacular,” said Natalia Leal, an economics student and visitor to the photographic exhibition.

The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by the group Expresión Musical UIS, conducted by maestro Fernando Remolina.
