The ninth edition of the newsletter ‘UISALUD Contigo’, the official publication of the Specialized Health Unit of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, is now available. In this issue, readers will find a touching chronicle about Matías, a one year old boy who was diagnosed with craniosynostosis and whose recovery has been possible thanks to the articulated work between his family, a multidisciplinary medical team and the continuous accompaniment of UISALUD.
Matias’ story is described by his mother as a “miracle of love and science”. Throughout the text, the complex process of diagnosis, the craniofacial surgery he underwent and the positive evolution of the child are revealed.
In addition, the bulletin highlights the positive results obtained in the audit carried out by the National Health Superintendency in August 2024, which evaluated eight key aspects in the management of insurance, care, contracting and regulatory compliance. Figures on enrollment and collections are also presented, as well as the balance of the accountability for the fiscal year 2024.
Finally, the change in the direction of UISALUD is made official. Dr. Santiago Ramírez Segura assumed this new challenge on April 1, 2025, replacing Dr. Gonzalo Gómez Patiño, who retired after more than 25 years of service.
