Neuroscience and behavior research group wins second place in national competition

The UIS neuroscience and behavior research group, led by professors Angie Naranjo and Carlos Conde from the School of Medicine’s Basic Sciences Department, made the UIS proud at a national event.

In the national RCD competition, Clinical Surgical Neurology of the Association of Scientific Societies of Medical Students of Colombia, held in the city of Cali, the members of the research group received outstanding recognition.

David Muñoz Flórez won second place with his poster presentation entitled “Analysis of the effectiveness of academic reinforcement applications in health learning.”

Jennifer Zárate took second place with her poster presentation of a case report entitled “Protein C deficiency as a rare cause of thrombosis in the Trolard vein.”

The participation of the students from the UIS Neuroscience and Behavior seedbed demonstrated the scientific rigor, academic commitment, and passion for research that characterizes this community.
