Join the discussion on forced displacement with a focus on human rights

The School of Law and Political Science and the Master’s Degree in Human Rights invite students, teachers, researchers, and interested citizens to participate in the academic event “Addressing forced displacement: Methodological Proposals with a Human Rights Approach,” which will take place on Friday, February 27, at 10:00 a.m., in the Nuevo Carmenza Landazábal Auditorium (first floor, Humanities Building II).

The event will feature Marco Alberto Romero Silva, director of the Consultancy for Human Rights and Displacement (CODHES), who will share his experience and analysis of the methodological challenges of understanding and addressing forced displacement from a perspective focused on dignity and the guarantee of rights. René Álvarez Orozco, coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Human Rights at the UIS, will moderate the event.

In addition to the main discussion, the event will mark the launch of the UIS-PRAGMA Interdisciplinary Human Rights Research Group, an initiative that seeks to strengthen research training and promote collaborative work between students and professors interested in the analysis of contemporary social issues.

With this space, the UIS reaffirms its commitment to building critical knowledge and promoting opportunities for participation that contribute to understanding and transforming social realities. The invitation is open to the entire community that wishes to join this academic dialogue and contribute to the reflection on forced displacement in Colombia.
