
The Faculty of Health praises the career and commitment of Dr. Germán William Rangel Jaimes, a distinguished graduate of the postgraduate program in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, who has been recognized for his invaluable contribution to pain medicine and palliative care in the region and the country.
The Council of Bucaramanga awarded him the “Order of the City of Bucaramanga – Category of Human and Social Merit” decoration, through Resolution No. 228 of November 26, 2025, in recognition of his leadership, dedication to service, and commitment to the well-being of patients. This distinction highlights not only his professional excellence, but also his profound human qualities and his tireless work on behalf of those who face pain and illness.
With more than 35 years of professional practice, Dr. Rangel has established an exemplary career in the field of anesthesiology, pain medicine, and palliative care, leading high-impact healthcare and academic processes. His work at the helm of the “Clínica del dolor y cuidado paliativo aliviar” (Pain and Palliative Care Clinic) has been fundamental in strengthening a comprehensive care model focused on the patient and human dignity.
His recognition also adds to distinctions awarded by the Colombian Association for the Study of Pain, which have highlighted his dedication, ethics, and scientific contribution at the national and international levels.
