The Central Campus of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) in Bucaramanga came back to life with the return of 16,718 undergraduate students, who are starting the 2026-1 academic period with joy and dedication.

“It’s a pleasure to return to my university. Everything is very nice, and you can tell that they worked hard during our absence to keep it in optimal condition. I am very happy to reconnect with my friends and welcome new classmates,” said José García, an industrial engineering student.

For many students, this new beginning not only means taking on new academic challenges and getting closer to their long-awaited degree, but also the opportunity to reconnect with classmates, enjoy group activities, and strengthen bonds of friendship.

“I missed being with my classmates and studying my degree, which I am passionate about. I hope to continue learning new concepts and, of course, continue developing my creativity,” added Luz Marín, an industrial design student.

The students also highlighted the condition of the campus and acknowledged the work of the university’s administrators and staff, who have maintained a clean, safe environment with abundant green space.

“The university infrastructure is in excellent condition, and the campus is very pleasant and well maintained. I am very happy to be back and hope to achieve a grade point average above 4.0 this semester,” said Santiago Arias, an industrial engineering student.

Finally, some students experience mixed emotions: the joy of returning to university life and, at the same time, the excitement and responsibility of starting the last stage of their undergraduate studies.

“Now all that’s left is to move forward with my degree project and enjoy it to the fullest. I hope to take advantage of all the opportunities the university offers us and keep every moment of this last year in my memory,” concluded María Blanco, a chemical engineering student.
