Whispers and flames in four strings’ is the concert that will be offered at the Luis A. Calvo Auditorium and will be given by José Miguel Rico and Beatriz Batista.
There will be an encounter with the many facets of the violin: from the most intimate and delicate landscapes, to moments of intensity and fire. With works ranging from the romantic depth of Brahms to the virtuosity of Waxman and Milstein, through the elegance of Kreisler and the vibrant roots of the Colombian music of Lucas Saboya.
José Miguel Rico began his violin studies at the age of 11. He was part of the Orquesta Filarmónica Prejuvenil de Bogotá in 2015 and 2016, he studied at the music conservatory of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. During his career he has won different competitions and has performed at various national and international festivals.
Beatriz Batista es cubana y actualmente trabaja como pianista de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana y de la Universidad de Los Andes, hace parte del equipo fundador del Festival Internacional Filarmónico de Flauta de la Academia Filarmónica de Flauta de Bogotá, además colabora frecuentemente con distintos músicos, instrumentistas y cantantes, continuando así con un carrera enfocada en explorar la versatilidad del piano en diferentes lenguajes y formatos musicales.
El evento se realizará el miércoles 18 de junio a las 7:00 p. m. y la entrada es gratuita.
