During World Breastfeeding Week, the Specialized Health Unit of the Industrial University of Santander, UISALUD, brought together its users who are breastfeeding mothers, who attended accompanied by their children for a special day of guidance and support for this essential practice for child development.

The activity, held on Friday, August 8, in the UISALUD boardroom, was attended by head Mariagna Lizarazo, who led a talk on what breastfeeding is, its benefits for the health of the baby and the mother, and strategies for reconciling breastfeeding with working life. Attendees were also reminded that the Industrial University of Santander has a space equipped for breastfeeding, located on the first floor of the Mechanical Engineering building.

During the event, mothers received a kit with breastfeeding support items and shared experiences in a warm and participatory environment, reinforcing the importance of this practice and the role of institutions in promoting it.
The commemoration was held under the slogan 2025: “Prioritizing breastfeeding: creating sustainable support systems,” reaffirming UISALUD’s commitment as a breastfeeding-friendly entity and promoter of its protection and support.
