
UIS Professor to Represent Colombia at ISCAR 2026. Researcher Nelson Rodríguez López will participate in Brazil in an international symposium on climate resilience and sustainable agriculture.
Professor Nelson Rodríguez López, from the School of Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), will participate in the 1st International Symposium on Climate and Agricultural Resilience – ISCAR 2026. A scientific event that will bring together international experts to discuss the challenges and resilience of agriculture in the face of climate change and food security in Latin America.
Moreover, the 1st ISCAR 2026 is part of the 5th Ceagre Agro Experience program, organized by the Center of Excellence in Exponential Agriculture (Ceagre) and the Federal Goiano Institute. The event will gather researchers and specialists from the United States, Colombia, Spain, Chile, and Brazil. In addition, it will take place from May 18 to 21, 2026, in Rio Verde, Brazil.
During the symposium, Professor Nelson Rodríguez López will present research related to sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and ecophysiological strategies that help crops respond and adapt to the effects of climate change.
Likewise, participants will discuss strategic topics for the future of global agriculture, including the adaptation of agricultural systems to extreme climate scenarios, efficient water management, crop resilience under climate stress, and scientific advances aimed at protecting agricultural productivity.
Furthermore, in addition to participating as a guest researcher, the UIS professor will carry out an academic and research stay in Brazil. As a result, this experience will strengthen international cooperation processes, scientific exchange, and collaborative networks among institutions in Brazil and South America.
