With a total of 173 votes, representing 82.381%, Álvaro Viviescas Jaimes was elected as the new faculty representative to the Academic Council for the 2026–2028 term.
The total number of votes recorded in this election was 210.
The results verification process took place at 4:06 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the presence of the Secretary General, Sofía Pinzón Durán; Sandra Judith Garcia Vergara, Dean of the Faculty of Physicochemical Engineering and Chair of the Committee; Jurg Niederbacher Velasquez, Dean of the Faculty of Health; Jeison Steven Ospino Sandoval, student representative to the Faculty of Sciences Council; Jhon Sebastián Pineda Ravelo, student representative to the Faculty of Physicochemical Engineering Council; and members of the UIS Electoral Oversight Committee, acting as scrutineers of the process, which was conducted through the Teams platform.
