Outstanding participation of the UIS in the XIX National Congress of Perinatology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Profesores y estudiantes UIS participantes en el XIX Congreso Nacional de Perinatología y Medicina Maternofetal

A great participation of professors and students UIS, made presence in the XIX National Congress of Perinatology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, held in Bucaramanga, through oral presentation, lectures, posters and videos. The students and professors of the Master’s Degree in Basic Biomedical Sciences, the Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences, and students and professors of the Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics, left the name of the UIS on high, as well as the professors who participated as lecturers, Luz Angela Gutiérrez Sánchez, Carlos Hernán Becerra, Juan Carlos Otero, Luz Dary Ortiz, Carolina Parra.

During the event, the research work entitled “Development and internal validation of a model for the prediction of preterm delivery in the 1st trimester of gestation”, by Dr. Carlos Hernán Becerra, professor of the School of Medicine and PhD student in Basic Sciences, was presented in the free papers modality, achieving recognition for the scientific rigor that made him worthy of first place in the category of free papers.

Other works were also presented in poster modality. “Profile of microRNAs differentially expressed in first trimester serum of pregnant women with preterm delivery”, authors Becerra C.H. Parra M.A, Diaz L, and Rincón-Orozco B.

In turn, doctoral student Luz Dalia Valbuena Durán, presented her work entitled “𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝟏𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨-𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐥 á𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚, 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚”, authors: Valbuena-Durán LD, Martínez- Vega RA, Becerra-Mojica CH, and Rincón-Orozco B.

Master’s student in Basic Biomedical Sciences, Maicol Avellaneda made the oral presentation entitled “ 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐢ó𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭é𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭é𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚 𝐮𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥ó𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥ó𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚”, this presentation was developed during the scientific activity organized by professors UIS , Carlos Becerra Mojica, Said Pertuz Arroyo, Bladimiro Rincón Orozco and William Hidalgo Buchelli, to show the a𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭í𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐚 p𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢ó𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐥 p𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨 p𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭é𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 obtained in the groups 𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐢ó𝐧, 𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐏, 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐈𝐌, and 𝐂𝐏𝐒.

In turn, the Gynecology postgraduate residents obtained the following awards: first place in oral presentation, Carlos Hernán Becerra, third place in oral presentation, Dayan Liseth Camacho, Luz Ángela Gutiérrez, Edgar Fabian Manrique, and second place in video presentation, Luz Angela Gutiérrez and Natalia Quintero.
