At the closing ceremony of the XVII Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) Mathematics Olympics for high school, the Reggio Amelia School of Bucaramanga reaffirmed its commitment to educational equity by donating a computer to the public school student with the best performance in the advanced level.
This initiative seeks to close the gap between public and private education in Colombia by providing opportunities for equal access to technological tools that support the academic development of talented students.
The gesture of solidarity led since 2024 was announced by Professor Andrés Olmos Sánchez, during the closing and awards ceremony: “If a student from Colegio Reggio Amelia wins first place in his or her level, the institution donates a computer with the same technical specifications to the best public school student in the same category”.
On this occasion, the student Sofía González Nossa, from that school, won the gold medal in the advanced level, and the recognition was awarded to Jofran Junior Rodríguez Quauro, from Colegio Técnico Vicente Azuero de Floridablanca, who took second place in the final test and was the best classified among the students from official schools.

The Organizing Committee of the Mathematical Olympiads 2025 and the UIS express their deep gratitude to the Reggio Amelia School for this noble gesture, which strengthens the objectives of the competition and represents a concrete example of collaboration between educational institutions in the country.
