UISALUD marked World Health Day with a prevention and education event

On April 7, the Specialized Health Unit of the Industrial University of Santander (UISALUD) held a comprehensive event focused on education, prevention, and community engagement in observance of World Health Day. The event, held at the Unit’s facilities, was organized under the slogan “Together for health, let’s support science” and brought together patients and staff around four key areas of action.

The event included educational sessions on the contributions of science to medicine, a reinforcement of the public health campaign “No le des Alas” (Don’t Give It Wings) to control disease-carrying mosquitoes, an announcement of the first workshop of the “De Todo Corazón” (With All My Heart) program, and a closing interactive mural where participants expressed messages of gratitude for their health.

The educational sessions held during the event highlighted milestones in science and their impact on patients’ quality of life. The goal was to highlight the direct link between scientific progress and the effectiveness of treatments available in healthcare facilities.

In this regard, Lizbeth Daniela Duran Espinosa, the head nurse in charge of the event, noted: “This event reflects our collective commitment to health and invites us to recognize the value of healthcare workers and science in the well-being of the community. Under the slogan ‘Together for health, let’s support science,’ we reaffirm that health is a shared achievement.”

To conclude the event, an interactive mural was set up where participating users wrote messages of reflection and gratitude regarding their health.

UISALUD also invites its users to participate in the health promotion and prevention programs offered by the Unit, as well as to make use of the Fitness Center (CAF), with the aim of fostering healthy habits and improving quality of life.
