Brayan Stiven Santos García, an undergraduate chemistry student at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), made an outstanding contribution to the VII Latin American Crystallographic Association Meeting (LACA), held in Fortaleza, Brazil.
His work, entitled “Crystal Structure Determination and Supramolecular Analysis of Hydrocodone Bitartrate by X-ray Diffraction,” was recognized with the Best Poster Prize Award from the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) as one of the three best among more than 100 presentations at the event. The project stood out for its scientific rigor, originality, and clarity in communicating the results.
The project, developed in the Structural Chemistry Research Group (GIQUE) and directed by Professor José Antonio Henao Martínez, represents an outstanding academic achievement for the UIS and an example of the talent, training, and scientific excellence present in our university community.
