In a new endorsement of its academic leadership, the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) received recognition from the Ministry of National Education, which granted and renewed High-Quality Accreditation for two of its strategic programs in the field of physicochemical engineering.

This distinction, which confirms the institution’s commitment to educational excellence, covers the PhD in Materials Engineering, which was awarded High-Quality Accreditation for six years through Resolution No. 011001 of April 27, 2026. In the same act, the program also received the renewal of its qualified registration for seven years, strengthening its position as a benchmark in advanced training and research.

Meanwhile, the Metallurgical Engineering program obtained the renewal of its High-Quality Accreditation for eight years, along with the extension of its qualified registration for the same period, according to Resolution No. 011010 of the same date. This achievement reaffirms its track record in training highly competitive professionals in the industrial and scientific sectors.

Both programs, affiliated with the School of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, are offered in on-campus format in Bucaramanga and have been key pillars in the country’s academic and technological development.

From the Rector’s Office, led by Hernán Porras Díaz, the coordinated work of students, faculty, administrators, and staff was highlighted as fundamental to achieving these results. “These recognitions reflect the collective effort to ensure quality education and fulfill our institutional mission,” he stated.

With these achievements, UIS continues to move forward steadily in its goal of consolidating itself as a national and international benchmark institution, reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive education, research, and social development.
