The School of Law and Political Science at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) has officially opened registration for the Diploma in Gender and Peace Policies, an academic program that seeks to promote critical reflection, transformative thinking, and the construction of more just and egalitarian societies.
With an interdisciplinary approach, the diploma is designed to strengthen the capacities for analysis, intervention, and public policy design around issues of gender, human rights, and peacebuilding. The initiative is aimed at university students, professionals from various fields, social leaders, public officials, and citizens interested in delving deeper into these issues from a transformative perspective.
The objective is to provide theoretical and practical tools that enable understanding of the interrelationship between gender and peace, and contribute to the development of inclusive policies in different social contexts. The diploma course also has a territorial focus, prioritizing the participation of officials and social actors linked to the Territorially Focused Development Programs (PDET) located in municipalities in the Magdalena River basin. It is also aimed at leaders of organizations working to defend victims of armed conflict, peace signatories, and humanitarian actors, as well as teachers and students at the UIS.
The program is hybrid, virtual and face-to-face, with a duration of 96 hours, starting on September 12, 2025. Registration is now open until Tuesday, September 9, and spaces are limited. Those interested can register via the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/TmVhz2NKAe
