Students at the Floridablanca campus are thrilled with the new gym facilities provided by the University. It is a comfortable place designed to strengthen body and mind with the aim of promoting the health and well-being of the entire university community.
The new space has 27 machines available for cardiovascular, strength, and striking training, as well as all the necessary accessories to offer a quality experience. “I think this gym was needed. It’s a recreational space not only for classes, but also for students to share,” said Ivanna Álvarez, a Data Science Engineering student.
Angélica García Ramírez, a Cultural and Creative Business Administration student, highlighted the fact that the service is free and that there is always an instructor on hand to guide gym users: “I think it’s a really cool space and a great addition because it helps our mental and physical health. We are very grateful to the university, and we hope that many students will get more involved,” she said.

Initially, the UIS Floridablanca gym will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is located next to the campus library.
“We are very happy because the gym has finally opened, something that generated a lot of excitement among all of us. The machines are of very good quality and there is a wide variety. We are grateful because it is something that not everyone can have, and we are going to take care of it so that it lasts a long time,” said Alejandro Ramírez, a data science engineering student.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Vice President for Administration Gerardo Latorre Bayona, Secretary General Sofía Pinzón, and Head of Student Welfare Mary Lupe Angulo, who also officially unveiled a pool table that is now available for students on the fourth floor of the building.
