During the intersemester period, the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) continues to provide access to the gyms across its different campuses, with the aim of promoting well-being and healthy lifestyle habits among staff members who continue carrying out their work activities during the student academic recess.
This initiative seeks to strengthen the physical and mental health of the university community through the use of sports facilities, ensuring access under the guidance of qualified professionals who oversee compliance with the established guidelines for their proper use.
“Through the physiotherapy professionals who support services at the Faculty of Health and the Floridablanca campus, spaces will be available during the intersemester period for administrative staff who wish to continue their self-care and physical activity routines, during specific hours arranged for their well-being and enjoyment,” said María Paula Hernández, Coordinator of Health Services and Psychosocial Development.

Operation of UIS Gyms
UIS campuses will make their gym facilities available to the university community, including access to equipment and resources for physical activity. In addition, the Faculty of Health will offer a specially adapted garden area for functional training sessions and outdoor activities.
Both gyms will provide guidance from qualified professionals responsible for supervising exercise routines. At the Faculty of Health, support will be provided by physiotherapists, while at the Floridablanca campus, users will receive assistance from a professional in Physical Education and Sports.
These services will be available to all UIS personnel, including administrative staff, faculty members, general services employees, and physical plant staff, from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on a continuous schedule. Interested individuals only need to present their institutional ID card at the gym to access and enjoy the university’s sports facilities.
