As part of the teaching-service agreement between the Industrial University of Santander and the University Hospital of Santander, the University reaffirmed its commitment to the dignity and well-being of academic practice settings by delivering a 55.77 m² space to the Hospital, specially equipped with 480 lockers.
“It is a great pleasure for me to be here on behalf of the University to deliver these 480 lockers to undergraduate students. This greatly dignifies the relationship between UIS and HUS. Having students with places where they can leave their belongings strengthens the teaching-service relationship and promotes the comfort of our community,” said Jürg Niederbacher Velásquez, dean of the Faculty of Health.
This new environment is designed so that undergraduate students at the UIS Faculty of Health can store, organize, and protect their personal belongings during their training, contributing to their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
“These lockers are very helpful to us as students, because before we didn’t have anywhere to leave our bags, and we didn’t have the security that we now have to leave our belongings,” said Juan José Herrera, a ninth-semester medical student.
The main training ground for students in the Faculty of Health is strengthening its educational spaces every day, offering favorable conditions for academic and research activities.
“The hospital welcomes this locker space for students with the aim of improving day by day. This will allow us to ensure patient safety, student well-being, and better train our students,” said Marisela Márquez Herrera, assistant manager of Teaching and Service at E.S.E Santander University Hospital.
