The Industrial University of Santander (UIS) participated in the 2025 Job and Academic Fair, organized by the Santander Network of Graduate Programs (REDSEG) and the UIS Institutional Graduate Program, an event that brought together more than 30 companies and educational institutions with the purpose of offering access to exclusive job openings and postgraduate training opportunities. The event took place on the campus of the University of Santander (UDES).

“The purpose of this Fair is to connect students and graduates with the private sector to access internships, work placements, vacancies, and job offers. We are very happy to have 600 registrants. In addition, since 2018, the UIS has led these lines of work to strengthen this network of opportunities,” said David León, coordinator of the UIS Institutional Graduate Program.

The UIS also participated with an institutional stand, where information was provided on the range of on-campus, distance learning, virtual, and postgraduate programs.

“We are grateful to the university for opening up these spaces for us to promote our programs. I am here on behalf of the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering, and we are promoting the Specialization and Master’s Degree in Electrical Energy Distribution Systems, as we are closing registration,” said Javier Betancur, marketing professional at the School.

The Fair was attended by renowned local and international companies and institutions, such as OTACC, founded by UIS graduates, and the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), which shared their vacancies and job opportunities.

“We are a Santander-based company with more than 58 years of experience and we are currently looking for professionals in areas such as engineering, law, and accounting,” said Valentina Castellanos, human resources professional at OTACC.

Alba Cadena, a professional at DANE, added: “It is very gratifying for us to participate in these fairs because we make available the Operational Service Providers Bank, our resume bank, since we are constantly in need of personnel.”

Attendees highlighted the importance of this space, as it allows them to learn about both academic offerings and the needs of the job market.

“Excellent, this connection between academia and the professional world will always be welcome for students and graduates. In addition, the participation of the UIS and the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering in this type of event is very appropriate,” said Juan López, an electronic engineer at the UIS.
