Thousands of 10th- and 11th-grade students from various high schools in the region reaffirmed their desire to attend the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) after learning more about its academic offerings at the university’s booth at the “Campus 2026” education fair.
At this booth, staff from the Institute for Regional Outreach and Distance Education (IPRED) and the Office of Admissions and Academic Records provided information on academic programs, enrollment processes, and institutional benefits through fun and informative activities designed to motivate young people to fulfill their dream of becoming “UIS Students,” as promoted by the admissions campaign for the 2026-2 academic year.
“We are participating in this fair to present our full educational offerings to students from different institutions in the region and to the community at large. We explain the programs we offer, the enrollment process, and benefits such as the Public Tuition Waiver Policy, among other aspects relevant to these young people,” noted Raúl Gómez, a staff member at IPRED.

Attendees expressed admiration for the variety of academic programs, the university’s infrastructure, and its presence in different regions of the country. Many said that enrolling at UIS is one of their primary academic and professional goals.
“I’ve had a great experience visiting this booth. All the information I received motivates me even more to fulfill my dream of studying medicine at the School of Health at the best university in eastern Colombia, the UIS,” said Yusneidy Arciniegas, a student at the Rafael García Herreros Technical School.
“I really like the UIS. I know it offers impressive programs with a strong technological focus. Additionally, I’m drawn to the fact that it also offers distance learning programs, because that allows me to study while fulfilling other responsibilities,” commented Sebastián Aguilar, a student at the Bosconia Rural Educational Institution.

Teachers also highlighted the importance of these types of events in guiding students as they shape their career plans. They noted that educational institutions are constantly working to motivate students to achieve the necessary scores on state exams so they can gain admission to their dream programs at UIS.
“We have students who are very interested in programs such as the Bachelor’s in English, Architecture, Biomedical Engineering, Law, and Political Science. The most important thing is to see the impact that universities have on the community and how they expand educational opportunities for our young people,” added Lina Delgado, a teacher at the Dámaso Zapata Technical School.
Registration for UIS on-campus programs for the 2026-2 academic year will remain open until June 17.
