With a Hollywood-Inspired Celebration, UIS Commemorates Administrative Staff Day 2026

The Department of Sports Coliseum hosted the opening ceremony for UIS Administrative Staff Day.

The Industrial University of Santander (UIS) celebrated Administrative Staff Day 2026 with a vibrant event themed “A Cinematic UIS”, bringing together creativity, talent, and enthusiasm. The celebration served as a tribute to the administrative employees whose daily work across the University’s academic and administrative units supports the institution’s mission and strategic goals.

The UIS Sports Coliseum became an emotional stage where 14 academic-administrative divisions and regional campuses brought iconic films to life through colorful parades, choreographed performances, music, and theatrical presentations. The event fostered teamwork, creativity, and camaraderie among administrative staff members.

Movie-Inspired Performances Captivated the Audience

The celebration opened with the Faculty of Human Sciences, whose energetic performance inspired by Grease filled the stage with rhythm, enthusiasm, and dynamic choreography.

The UIS Barrancabermeja Campus followed with a colorful interpretation of Encanto, highlighting the magic, warmth, and diversity that characterize university life.

The Financial Division delighted attendees with a fun-filled performance inspired by Minions, where humor, teamwork, and creativity took center stage.

From the UIS Málaga Campus, staff presented an emotional tribute based on Coco, celebrating family, tradition, and the importance of preserving memories and cultural heritage through music and vibrant visuals.

The UIS Barbosa Campus transported the audience back to prehistoric times with an entertaining performance inspired by The Flintstones, combining humor, charisma, and lively choreography.

The world of Shrek came to life thanks to the joint participation of the Institute for Regional Outreach and Distance Education (IPRED), the Admissions Office, the Office of the President, the Legal Office, and the General Secretariat, whose performance celebrated authenticity, diversity, and teamwork.

The Student Welfare Division earned laughter and applause with a nostalgic tribute to Chespirito, connecting generations through humor and beloved television characters.

Fantasy took center stage as the UIS Socorro Campus presented a colorful adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, inviting spectators into a world of imagination and creativity.

The Technological Maintenance Division and Facilities Management Division energized the audience with an entertaining performance inspired by The Mask, featuring vibrant choreography and memorable stage presence.

The Human Talent Management Division paid tribute to Michael Jackson, honoring the King of Pop through a performance showcasing music, precision, and iconic dance moves.

The Publications Division and the Library System surprised attendees with a creative interpretation of The Purge, transforming suspense into a lively artistic performance.

The Information and Communications Technology Division (DTIC) recreated the universe of Super Mario Bros., combining adventure, collaboration, and dynamic choreography to highlight the value of teamwork.

The Cultural Affairs Directorate and the Academic Excellence System (SEA) took audiences on a musical voyage inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, celebrating imagination, exploration, and artistic expression.

Finally, the Faculty of Health Sciences concluded the event with a stylish performance based on Men in Black, bringing humor, coordination, and energy to a memorable closing presentation.


A Celebration to Remember

“These celebrations are important because they strengthen our integration as a team and allow us to participate in activities that contribute to our well-being. They are especially meaningful for those of us who work at regional campuses because they give us the opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the University. It is very rewarding to know that the University values employees from every campus,” said Amanda Miguel Díaz, psychologist at the UIS Barbosa Campus.

“This is an event we truly enjoy because it allows staff from regional campuses to come to the Bucaramanga campus, interact with colleagues, build relationships, and showcase their artistic talents. These activities also strengthen our workplace environment and social connections,” added Marleny Carrillo García, Facilities Management Coordinator at the UIS Barrancabermeja Campus.

Through this celebration, the Industrial University of Santander reaffirmed its commitment to employee well-being while promoting initiatives that strengthen institutional identity, recognition, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.
