The Medical Program at the Industrial University of Santander continues to establish itself as a national benchmark for academic excellence, infrastructure, and health education. On this occasion, administrators from the University of Córdoba visited the facilities of the UIS Scientific Complex to gain firsthand insight into the operation of its Medical Program and to establish a working group aimed at strengthening its future academic offerings.

The delegation, consisting of Hiltony Villa Dangond, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; Elkin Bechara Velásquez, director of Planning and Development; and Blaiser Rojas Correa and Edwin Paternina Atencia, Planning and Development professionals, toured the various academic and scientific spaces within the Complex. During the visit, they toured specialized laboratories, classrooms, simulation facilities, and other spaces supporting the students’ comprehensive education.

The quality of the UIS’s physical and technological infrastructure, as well as the human commitment of its university community, left a favorable impression on the representatives from the University of Córdoba.

“The laboratories and the physical and technological infrastructure at UIS are top-notch. We are very impressed; the architecture is beautiful and the people are very warm. We leave satisfied and grateful for this collaboration, which contributes to the implementation of our medical program at the University of Córdoba in 2027. You are a benchmark and an inspiration to us,” said Hiltony Villa Dangond, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Córdoba.

This meeting reaffirms the UIS’s leadership as a model of excellence in higher education and demonstrates the impact of its academic, scientific, and innovation processes on strengthening medical education in Colombia.
