ASCUN competition continues for UIS team sports

The futsal, ultimate frisbee and volleyball teams continue competing in their third group-stage matches, with the opportunity to secure a place in the round of 16, quarterfinals or semifinals, depending on the format of each competition.

Yanini Yissel Sánchez, a UIS judoka, reflected on her performance in this edition of the Games: “I am very happy with my performance at this national stage. Historically, I have won a bronze medal, a gold medal and now a silver medal. In sport, every experience is an opportunity to learn, and this time I finished in second place”.

“We are focused on winning gold and taking it one step at a time. First, we have to qualify for the quarterfinals. From there, we feel that we have a competitive team capable of reaching the podium at the National Games,” said Daniela Castellanos, a member of the women’s futsal team.

UIS now has a total of 41 medals in the overall standings: 9 gold, 13 silver and 19 bronze.
