The rhythms continue to vibrate and the stories continue to resonate at the International Piano Festival during the second week of the cultural event. Galas, exhibitions, academic meetings, and outreach to municipalities in Santander were some of the activities enjoyed by attendees.
“I felt wonderful, really good. I am grateful to the UIS for inviting me to the International Piano Festival and to the audience that came. This is a step forward in my career; it is important to have played at the Luis A. Calvo Auditorium,” said Juan Miguel Saboyá Soto, winner of the children’s category of the 2024 National Piano Competition.
Yami Cruz Montero, a pianist who took the audience on a musical journey through African, indigenous, and European roots in the concert “Latin American Dances,” also stood out during the week, a fact appreciated by those attending the International Piano Festival.
“Many artists come from different places, it’s a very nice festival, and it’s cool to be here. The instrument is relaxed, harmonious, and lends itself to melodies and compositions. I love the Piano Festival, I’ve been coming for three years and I hope they keep doing it,” said Jorge Plata, a physics student.
The cultural event will run until August 23. Check the program at the following link. Remember that admission is free, but you must reserve your spot for the activity you want to attend.
