The Rector of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Hernán Porras Díaz, visited Google Latin America’s offices in Bogotá for a meeting focused on learning how a comprehensive digital transformation process is structured and implemented within a university institution.
During the visit, the rector was accompanied by Óscar Cáceres, Manager of Expansion and Growth Strategy for Google Workspace in Latin America, and Édgar Ávila, Engineering Manager for Google Workspace in Latin America. Together, they reviewed various aspects related to the implementation of digital tools and strategies.
The initiative aims to move toward a transformation that encompasses all of UIS’s core areas of operation, both administrative and academic, with the goal of identifying opportunities to modernize processes, strengthen institutional capabilities, and leverage digital technologies.
For the University, this meeting represents the first step toward structuring its digital transformation process—a path that seeks to involve the institution’s different areas in a comprehensive and coordinated manner.
